AnxietyAnxiety, what is it? Do you think it's a medical problem, some chemical imbalance? Then you'll treat it with medications that subdues your child's emotions. However, anti-anxiety or anti-depressents are NOT recommended for children by the American Pediatric Association.
What if anxiety was a normal emotion? Anxiety is just fear that has being triggered off at the wrong time. We, at Kid Fears, describe it as "fear without the fire". Understanding anxiety as a normal emotion focuses you on what's triggering the anxiety (thoughts, beliefs, negative energy patterns, past trauma), as well as learning how to turn the anxiety off. |
AnswersThe Kid Fears program focuses on teaching your child the tools and skills he or she needs to shift feelings of fear and replace with a sense of calm and confidence.
Change has 3 parts, recognizing your patterns, interrupting your patterns, and replacing your patterns. You have tried to create change by jumping to step 3 and trying to replace your patterns. What happened however was the process worked in reverse and your old patterns interrupt your new changes.
Lasting change in your child's negative emotions requires your child to understand what's wrong, but at the same time know that he or she is not wrong. The negative thoughts, or negative feelings then needs to be interrupted. All power needs to be pulled from the old patterns. Then your child will produce the new behaviors and feelings that will bring success. |
